Numerous studies have verified the benefits of offering workplace wellness programs. The challenge is there are always so many topics, and often it becomes difficult to prioritize.  Some topics, such as Bullying, are mandated by Workers Compensation programs, making it even more difficult to ofter additional topics the company sees as valuable. All companies face the challenge of finding room in their budget to supply the corporate wellness training they would like to.

A supervisor or manager can assign a topic to a group of employees. Employees can view the module and then discuss it in a group.  Or, a supervisor or manager may assign one employee a certain topic, if the employee needs coaching on a specific topic. Or, employees may choose their own topics.

Now, Wellness Connection has designed a online, flexible training module system that enables employers and employees to access information and training materials on demand.  There are no limitations to how many times each topic is visited, and employees can access info on personal topics, without being required to go through a manager. Each employee is provided with their own login – and logins are not monitored by managers. This offers confidentiality on topics such as personal financial problems, abuse or other personal issues that may be impacting work – but not a topic the employee particularly wishes to discuss with co-workers or supervisors.

Modules contain, usually 4 – 6, brief videos (videos are selected from Youtube – after screening to ensure content is high quality and relevant. This enables the viewers to get approximately the same amount of information as would be supplied in a “Lunch ‘n Learn” or short workshop and is often adequate. This allows viewers an opportunity to hear the view-point of various experts in the field. In many cases the author of the video is an author, or offers additional resources. While our goal is not to promote their books or services, and use of a video does not imply endorsement, many of these resources are excellent and worth considering if you wish more information on the topic.

forumThe forum enables employees to interact with other employees, within your company, or other member companies. It also allows managers to contribute to threads, and is moderated by a coach. Every employee will be provided with their own login, and can post under their real name, or an alias if they wish to discuss a topic, or get feedback, or suggestions with some privacy.

While it is necessary for us to use company email addresses to ensure that the membership is not compromised, the email addresses do not show to other forum members and employees are able to post as a guest, once they are logged in – giving them privacy.

The life-blood of the Canadian economy is the small to medium sized business and these businesses have not been able to offer their employees access to discounts with the major corporations. The Wellness Connection Corporate Wellness Program changes all this!  We have partnered with the company that manages the employee discount services for major corporations like Royal Bank, BMO, Air Canada, and Fortune 500 companies.

What does that mean? It means that your employees can benefit from the same discounts as employees get when they work for a major corporation. How cool is that? (Yes, they can login from home, to shop.) Again, their login will require their employee email address – to ensure only members get these discounts. They can opt in or opt out of  promotional emails.  (We do not send emails ourselves – to your employees. But, the discount company does, but the employee may opt out. )
